IZZ

Without question one of the brightest lights on the American symphonic progressive rock scene, IZZ melds classic and modern prog influences, strong melodies, complex male-female multi-part vocal harmonies, and stirring guitar, synthesizer, bass, and double-drumming work into a familiar yet refreshing musical sound.

Since the release of their first album in 1999, IZZ has been a stalwart of the American progressive rock music scene. Releasing such memorable albums as I Move, My River Flows and The Darkened Room, IZZ has performed at numerous festivals in the North American progressive art rock circuit including NEARFest, ProgWest, ProgDay, Rosfest, Calprog and the Terra Incognita Festival in Quebec, Canada.

Combining a passion for melody with an adventurous musical spirit, IZZ has produced some of American progressive rock’s most beloved songs of the last 20 years including "Coming Like Light," "Star Evil Gnoma Su," "Late Night Salvation" and "23 Minutes of Tragedy."

Centered around the 18+ minute epic, "42," IZZ’s new album Don’t Panic reveals a fresh, new energy evidenced immediately by the title track’s driving bass and catchy hooks to the unpredictable musical twists of "Age of Stars" to the instrumental tour-de-force that is "Moment of Inertia" and the exquisite classical guitar piece, "Six String Theory."

THE WORD

"The music is top-notch progressive music with non-standard patterns, changing meters and melodies, and complex themes. The vocal harmonies are excellent and spot on. Even when there are no harmonies, the singers are strong enough to carry the lyrics forward. ...(Don't Panic) is excellent and is definitely the best symphonic prog album released this year. Definitely recommended to symphonic prog and to all prog lovers. "
-TCat, PROGARCHIVES

"Izz aren’t a band who offer instant fixes, their work requiring the investment of repeated listening to get the very best out of it.  And with a modicum of perseverance, Don’t Panic – which boasts some of the most accomplished playing, and one of finest productions you’ll hear this year – slowly reveals riches that will surely merit an album of the year nomination."
-Pete Whalley,
GET READY TO ROCK ME

"(Don't Panic) is a total prog thrill ride, and immensely satisfying. You get the best of both worlds: prog nostalgia about yesterdays (see what I did there?), and yet also a remarkably clever and original musical creation for the present day. Well done, IZZ, and thank you for a first class musical experience."
