Bruteus

Bruteus is an instrumental prog-rock power trio from North Carolina. Their sound is built on a groove-heavy crossover prog-rock foundation layered with a soulful and strong melodic vibe. Their songs show a diversity of texture and influences spanning rock, metal, alternative, jazz fusion, and pop — all woven into purely instrumental music.

All three members are veteran performers, and their live shows carry the same power and precision as their studio recordings.

Their collective influences are wide-ranging and can be traced from Band of Gypsies to the Aristocrats, from Rush to Tool, from Return to Forever to King Crimson — and many others too numerous to list.

In addition to their own headlining shows, Bruteus has opened for acts including Carl Verheyen, Soften the Glare, Travis Larsen, Le Special, Cycles, and Marbin.

THE WORD

"What a nice surprise Echoes of Resistance has been. For those attracted to heavy '70s influenced rock with psychedelic and space rock flavorings, you should really find yourself a copy.."
- SEA OF TRANQUILITY

"North Carolina's instrumental trio Bruteus has released their sophomore effort, Anthem… Fans of artists such as Tool, Dream Theater, Steve Morse, Guthrie Govan, Satriani, Vai, and Rush will find something to like here. There is no insane, unnecessary shredding, and melody is king.""
